Quick and Easy Teacher Appreciation Presents!

Next week is my son's last week of pre-school before summer - woo hoo! He only goes a few hours each day four days a week, but he has a couple directors and several teachers that he loves. I am so glad that he loves going to school and his teachers. I wanted to give them something to show our appreciation for their hard work all year, so we made these!

For the directors presents, we spray painted Terracotta pots and saucers with chalkboard paint, painted the rim with acrylic color paint, and made a hand print on the saucer (seal the saucer with protective spray to keep from chipping).

Leyton choose pink flowers to put in them. I was going to do white daises, but he told me "Girls like pink and purple flowers," so pink flowers it is. Next, make the flower and tag. I just re-sized a picture and cut out a flower to make a flower tag. Then I made a tag that says, "Thank you for helping me GROW this year. Have a great summer!"
*This would also make a great Mother's/Grandma's present that your child can make for them!

Supplies: chalk paint, color paint, pot, saucer, plant, paper for tags

A couple of Leyton's teachers are boys, so I wanted to do something besides flowers for them. We came up with this candy bouquet. It was also quick, easy, and cheap to make. We also spray painted these pots with chalkboard paint then hot glued ABC ribbon around them. Scrunch up a piece of construction paper in the bottom and then add a piece of floral foam to fit (Dollar tree has a 4 pack and 1 fits in these pots perfectly). Grab an assortment of fun sized candy and got glue skinny wood sticks on the back of each one. Then just stick the candy on a stick in the pot through the foam, arranging however you like. Leyton wouldn't let me put very many Twix candy bars because, "My teachers told me they don't like Twix because it is my favorite candy, not theirs." Each one has about 10 fun size pieces. I added shredded paper to hide the foam. We added the same flower tag. The other tag says, "Thank you for being such a SWEET teacher. Have a great summer!"

It took about an hour to put all of the pots together, not bad for six presents. The final step is to give your child a brown paper bag, markers, and stickers to decorate the gift bag. This was Leyton's favorite part and spent a long time decorating each bag just right!
